Nicolas Richard
Nicolas Richard has been the Managing Partner of Juristconsult Chambers since 2015. Prior to joining Juristconsult Chambers, he was an associate/director at the local office of Conyers Dill & Pearman (Mauritius) Ltd and was the founder of one of the first law firms to be registered in Mauritius. He also worked as Legal Affairs Manager at IBL Ltd, the largest conglomerate in Mauritius, where he was involved in several important projects, including the financing and construction of the island’s largest dockyard, the launch of the first private airline in the country and several cross-border financing transactions using Mauritius special purpose vehicles.
He holds a Maîtrise en droit privé from Université de la Réunion (France) and the University of Exeter (UK) (Erasmus), as well as a Licence en droit privé from Université de la Réunion (France). He was admitted to the Mauritius Law Society in 2005 after being ranked first in the Attorney’s examination in 2003.
